What is Colonic Hydrotherapy?

Colonic hydrotherapy is a water-based treatment designed to cleanse the colon and promote better digestion and detoxification.

Warm water flows in and out the colon helping to hydrate and detox the colon.

 

How should I prepare for my treatment?

  • Avoid any gas forming foods such as nuts, beans, pulses or processed foods.
  • Do not eat any heavy meals 12 hours prior to appointment.
  • Do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to appointment.
  • Hydrate- drink plenty of water 24 hours prior to appointment.
  • Avoid any laxatives.
  • Try to have a bowel movement on the day of appointment.
  • Please do not attend an appointment if you have had any sickness, diarrhoea or stomach upset in the last 2 weeks.

 

Are there any side effects?

Most clients experience no side effects, but some may experience mild cramping or bloating, which usually subsides quickly.

 

How many sessions are recommended?

A recommended course of 3 should be carried out. First session on day 1, Second session on day 2-3 and the third session day 7-10.

 

How often should I have colonic hydrotherapy?

Colonics are recommended every 3 months. Some people only like to have a course of colonics if they have up coming events.

 

I am embarrassed to have a colonic 

Your therapist will make you feel comfortable and at easy and will talk you through every step of the treatment. You are fully covered during this treatment. Our therapists carry this treatment with full respect and will look after you and your needs. 

 

What happens after my treatment?

You will be asked to go to the toilet for a possible release, during this time your therapist will leave the room to give you complete privacy and once you are finished just take a seat and wait for therapist to return. Aftercare will be discussed and a pro-biotic will be given.

 

Is it painful or uncomfortable? 

The treatment can feel uncomfortable whilst the speculum is being inserted but we do our best to make you feel comfortable and at ease.

The treatment should not be painful.
